We are currently looking for a Commercial Account Handler to join the established and welcoming broking team of Thompson Insurance (part of Brown & Brown) in Solihull.

Solihull is one of Brown & Brown’s many growing retail insurance broker locations, with a strong record of providing support and success for all who join them.

The position involves servicing client accounts (SME) within the renewals lifecycle, including renewal administration, insurer presentations, premium negotiations, adjustments, and client reports. Experience as an insurance Account Handler is required, along with good customer service, negotiation skills, broking, and market awareness.

This is a long-term opportunity suitable for a Broker/Account Handler with solid cross-class commercial insurance knowledge seeking career growth or wider responsibilities.

The day-to-day:

* Manage, grow, and be responsible for client accounts and policies
* Generate revenue and provide professional, efficient service, promoting suitable products in compliance with FCA regulations
* Analyze clients’ current risks and offer appropriate solutions for uninsured risks
* Manage premiums, finance agreements, and credit control
* Handle aged debt effectively
* Prepare market submissions and policy presentations
* Negotiate policy terms, conditions, premiums, and income with insurers and clients
* Review market results and research to recommend suitable insurers and products, explaining cover extents
* Ensure excellent customer service and retention, complying with FCA rules and internal policies
* Propose ideas to clients to improve sales performance
* Maintain regular contact with clients to meet their insurance needs
* Seek business opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling and referrals
* Provide quotations for all classes of general insurance, offering relevant advice
* Onboard new clients, ensuring proper coverage, paperwork, premium collection, and record-keeping
* Negotiate and present to insurers for optimal coverage

Your Experience:

* Strong planning and organizational skills
