The Case Manager will strive to make contact and work on a one-to-one basis with perpetrators whose victims have been identified as high risk at MARAC to proactively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change, and link to complementary services.
Responsibilities
* Interagency work
Work to embed the Case Manager role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area.
* Effective understanding and implementation of institutional advocacy by pro-socially challenging partner agencies, acknowledging best practice, and striving for change to benefit the individual, the service, and the sector.
* Support other professionals in responding to service users in a way that aligns with the aims and ethos of the Drive Project.
* Work closely with other professionals to ensure risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met.
* Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private, and voluntary agencies to address domestic abuse.
* Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, provide feedback on initiatives and outcomes, and contribute to evaluating the quality of services offered.
* Provide a single point of proactive and regular contact for professionals involved in cases.
* Be flexible and willing to work in all environments.
Case management
* Comply with child protection and information sharing policies, ensuring understanding and compliance with safeguarding frameworks.
* Manage a caseload focusing on high-risk perpetrators, providing an assertive, medium to long-term service based on thorough assessment and support planning, adopting principles of support and/or disrupt strategies.
* Contribute to regular service reviews, including monitoring data, evaluations, and workload reviews.
* Attend monthly case management meetings with the Service Manager and clinical supervision.
* Take steps to protect where there is imminent risk to others.
Recording and administration
* Ensure case files are accurate, complete, and compliant with Data Protection Act requirements.
* Enter all required information into the electronic case management system for tracking and risk management.
* Maintain a weekly, accurate, and secure audit trail of communication.
* Comply with data protection and information sharing protocols.
Direct work with service users
* Maintain a proactive response, providing positive options for behaviour change throughout the service user's engagement.
* Use motivational work, relationship building, and therapeutic skills to engage service users in addressing their abusive behaviour.
* Motivate and support service users to address needs contributing to their risk, such as housing or substance use.
* Ensure service users understand accountability for continued abuse.
* Deliver consistent services, including risk assessment, support planning, referrals, and MARACs.
* Develop strategies to disrupt ongoing risks.
* Undertake assessments of risk, needs, and attitudes to inform intervention plans.
