Job responsibilities
Daily Tasks
- Seeing patients either face to face or via telephone appointment.
- Break in-between sessions for admin, home visits, lunch
- Possible home visits, which are split equally between the GP's in surgery that day. We do not envisage you will get one every day. We use UPCA for any patients they can see.
- Equal share of admin including medicine management tasks, general tasks, docman letters (Admin team are trained to filter out irrelevant documents so this is kept minimal), lab reports etc.
- Daily coffee meet for all GP's at 12.00pm.
On-call Duties
- AM session remains the same for an on-call day, but the PM session changes. Still only see the same amount of patients as a usual session but with extra gaps for urgent tasks, which may include medication queries or urgent forms such as end of life medications.
- You would be required to stay on site until 6.30pm on an on-call day, and you would have Nurse support until 6.00pm.
Other information
- You will be given your own patient list which is done on a fair share among all GP's.
- Regular GP meetings are held with the Practice Manager, along with regular staff meetings for the whole team.
- We are a training practice whereby we have GP trainees and students. You may be asked to get involved in feedback or teaching, if interested.

Qualifications
* Full General Medical Council registration with licence to practise
* On a GP Performers list
Additional
* Have had a clean enhanced DBS (CRB) check and willing to have another if offered post
* Member of a medical defence organisation
* Up to date with GP appraisals
* Have a full car driving licence and have the use of a car
* Computer literate especially in relation to GP related tasks
* Good communication and inter-personal skills
* Ability to work within a team
* An interest in teaching/supervising GP trainees
* Knowledge of the EMIS Web computer system
* Willingness to attend practice meetings
* A sense of humour
