Our ethos at East Shore Partnership is to provide the highest quality patient care and excellent support for all staff.
We are seeking a Salaried GP to provide maternity cover for 9 to 12 months, 6 sessions per week.
East Shore Partnership is an inner-city practicebased in Portsmouth, Hampshire. It is within easy access to road/rail links andgood local schools and colleges. We are a friendly and forward-thinkingpractice which serves over 13,500 patients within the local area.
We have a good CQC rating and excellent QOF achievement and are a member of Brunel Primary Care Network.
We are an established GP training practice for vocational training and offer training support for nurses and pharmacists too. We are committed to the professional development of our staff at East Shore Partnership.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have:
Knowledge and understanding of services relevant to primary care.
Knowledge of current and forthcoming national policy and its effects on clinical practice.
Knowledge of GP contracts, enhanced services and QOF
About us
Our clinical team comprises of 3 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPS, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Pharmacist, a Pharmacy Technician, 4 Nurses, 1 Mental Health Nurse Specialist, a HCA, GP Assistant, 2 Trainee Nursing Associates and access to a Diabetes and Respiratory Nurse Specialist; and very supportive and skilled administrative staff who assist in maintaining excellent patient care.
Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Surgery Consultations, triagingcalls as appropriate, occasional home visiting and administration associatedwith patient care.
Work closely withAdvanced Nurse Practitioner to run duty sessions, providing advice and support.
Work as a team memberwith all relevant providers of primary and community care services within thepractice.
Ensure appropriaterecords are maintained at all times regarding patient care and that relevantteam members are kept fully informed regarding patients seen on behalf of thepractice.
Ensure that the practiceachieves the highest possible QOF outcomes.
Developing care plansfor health in consultation with patients and in line with current practicedisease management protocols.
Support the proactivecare agenda by participating in care planning and multi-disciplinary meetings.
Attend team and healthcaremeetings when required and represent East Shore Partnership at externalmeetings.
Other responsibilities within the Practice:
* Maintain confidentiality of the practiceat all times.
* Work in accordance with and comply withall practice policies and procedures/guidelines. E.g. health and safety,prescribing, GDPR, and assist in their development.
* Fulfil any monitoring requirementsattached to the post as required.
* Actively participate in clinicalgovernance within the practice as required by the Performance and PracticeManager.
* Contribute to the development ofcomputer-based patient records and summarising of patient records andread-coding patient data.
* Maintain and develop individual skillsand knowledge, ensuring statutory, mandatory and Trust required trainingupdates are completed in a timely manner. Committed to lifelong learning.
* Attend training and events organised bythe practice or external agencies where appropriate.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP MRCGP
* GMC full registration
* Registered on the relevant Medical Performers list
Experience
* Knowledge and understanding of services relevant to primary care.
* Telephone Triage
* Knowledge of current and forthcoming national policy and its effects on clinical practice.
* Knowledge of GP contracts / enhanced services / QOF
* Previous experience of working in primary care
* Experience of using TPP SystmOne
* Evidence of delivering QOF
* Experience of working with chronic disease management
