As our HSE Manager, you’ll play a vital role in keeping people safe and protecting our environment. You'll lead efforts to manage and reduce risk, drive impactful HSE projects, and ensure our site consistently meets Mars’ high standards and local regulatory requirements. In this role, you’ll partner across functions to strengthen our culture of health, safety, and environmental care. From providing expert guidance to leading audits and engaging with regulatory bodies, your work will directly support the well-being of our Associates and the planet we share.
Location: Slough, UK, full-time on-site 5/2
Salary: £62,000 - £75,000 (depending on the knowledge & experience), annual bonus, benefits, car allowance
What would be your key responsibilities?
* Lead the development and deployment of HSE strategies and roadmap to deliver continued improvement to site safety and environmental performance including supporting the Mars Supply Excellence safety pillar
* Support and coach leadership, operations, technical and engineering teams to drive an engaging HSE culture across the site
* Implement and maintain appropriate Mars HSE site policies, procedures and management systems
* Define, coordinate and maintain HSE risk assessments, emergency and evacuation procedures and their link to the business recovery program
* Lead all site HSE audit programmes to ensure compliance with corporate and legislative requirements, acting as the main contact with advisory bodies and auditors
* Provide technical expertise to ensure serious incident investigations are suitably analysed and preventive actions are defined and implemented by the first line managers
What are we looking for?
* Higher level Qualification in science, mechanical or electrical engineering (HNC/HND/Degree), withNEBOSH Certificate/Diploma, IEMA Certificate preferable
* In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment legislation
* Experience working in factory environment in an operation/technical role and/or experience maintaining a quality, safety, or environmental management system is desirable
* The ability to maintain professional working relationships with individuals at all levels in and out of the company
* Skills: Action Planning, Data Collection and Analysis, Data Control, Health and Safety, Planning and Organizing, Policy and Procedures, Policy and Regulation, Project Risk and Issue Management, Project Schedule Management
