High‑Grade Vehicle & Plant Technician – Leyland
Days only (Mon‑Fri). Working at a global manufacturing facility near Leyland.
Salary: £49,000‑£53,300. Location: Leyland.
Responsibilities
* Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, repairs & MOTs on HGVs, trailers, pool cars and other plant to VOSA standard.
* Diagnose and rectify mechanical & electrical faults using Texa diagnostic equipment.
* Dismantle, repair/replace faulty components and test new ones for safe operation.
* Liaise with HGV workshop administrator to order vehicle parts.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
Person Specification
* 4+ years of HGV/Plant Technician experience.
* Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
* Valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) licence (desirable).
* MOT preparation experience – tractor units & trailers.
* Experience with HGVs and plant, basic welding, hydraulic & auto electrical skills.
* Hardworking, able to work under pressure safely and responsibly.
* IRTEC accreditation (desirable).
* Experience in undertaking LEEA inspections.
