2-3 month contract with a local authority Summary The Senior Practitioner role is a 2-3 month contract with a local authority, focusing on delivering high-quality, evidence-based social work practice to children, young people, adults, or families, depending on the service area. This position is crucial for providing advanced casework, professional leadership, mentoring, and practice oversight to support improved outcomes. The role ensures that statutory duties, safeguarding responsibilities, and best-practice standards are consistently met. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, demonstrating strong professional judgment and decision-making. Undertake comprehensive assessments, care planning, and risk management in line with statutory requirements and practice standards. Deliver strengths-based, trauma-informed, and relationship-focused interventions. Ensure timely reviews, case updates, and accurate record-keeping. Requirements Minimum 4 years post-qualification experience in statutory social work. Proven experience managing complex cases and delivering high-quality assessments and interventions. Experience in safeguarding, risk assessment, and multi-agency working. Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA Social Work, MA Social Work, DipSW). Registration with Social Work England (or relevant professional body). Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development (CPD). Additional Information Working hours: 36.50 hours per week.
