New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) school in South Liverpool. This is a full-time, long-term position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children with complex needs.

• A specialist PMLD school based in South Liverpool, committed to providing a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

• Offers bespoke therapeutic and educational programmes designed to enhance independence, wellbeing, and quality of life for every pupil.
• Works closely with families, therapists, and external agencies to deliver holistic care and learning.
The Role:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with PMLD, assisting with their educational, physical, and emotional needs throughout the school day.
• Support personalised learning programmes that focus on sensory stimulation, communication development, and physical care.
• Assist with mobility, feeding, personal care, and the use of specialised equipment as needed.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Has experience working with children with profound and multiple learning difficulties or complex special educational needs.
• Can provide a reference covering relevant experience within the last 5 years.
• Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check on the update service.
• Has transferable skills from care, nursing, therapy, or related roles, which will enhance support for pupils’ diverse needs.
