THE ROLE
We are on the search for a qualified and competent Financial Controller to join the company's Lincoln site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ongoing monitoring and review of customer margins and direct costs, tracking production job performance and ensuring any unfavourable margins are identified, highlighted to the site management team and corrected in a timely manner.
* Regular review of indirect costs to ensure any increases in overheads are identified early and captured within the business model.
* Ensure customer price increases are implemented to adequately cover any supplier price increases.
* Monitor hourly cost rates and calculate monthly absorption.
* Preparation of monthly management accounts information for presentation to Group and site directors, adhering to strict group reporting deadlines, striving for efficient practice and continuous improvement. This will include month end accrual, prepayments and month end general ledger adjustments.
* Calculation of monthly customer and supplier rebate calculations, providing rebate statements to customers who require and raising, or chasing, credit notes as they fall due.
* Maintain the fixed asset register, calculate monthly depreciation charges, account for additions and disposals accurately. Perform Fixed asset reviews as required.
* Regular review of monthly stock valuation procedure.
* Contribute in the weekly summary forecast reports for submission to group.
* Balance sheet account reconciliations.
* Ensuring bank transactions are posted accurately in the general ledger and compiling monthly bank reconciliations.
* Cashflow monitoring and reporting.
* Check, code and post employee expense claims.
* Petty cash control and reconciliations.
* Prepare and submit VAT, Plastics Packaging Tax and Office of National Statistics returns and other third party returns as and when required.
* Liaising with external auditors at year end.
* To have comprehensive knowledge of the weekly payroll in order to provide support as well as holiday and sickness cover to the payroll administrator.
* Assist Managing Director and Business Unit Controller in producing financial information or reports when requested.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
