This position is for a Data Engineering Lead in the Data Defense Office (DDO) on the Data De-Identification Team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Data Engineering, is a seasoned developer or technical lead with deep insight into AWS services, a background in Data Governance and Privacy, and experience working with various systems and teams across the Enterprise.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the transformation of our architecture and implementing design enhancements related to a systematic process that will deliver key capabilities for the Data Management Program in CDAO (Chief Data & Analytics Office). You will also need to coach a team of developers and partner closely with the Product Manager and Scrum Lead to ensure prioritization and alignment of work towards OKRs.
Core responsibilities include guiding partner teams on technology implementation aligned with the DDO roadmap. This is a hands-on role where you will proactively identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks, ensure technology solutions support business needs, and stay in sync with architecture principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert-level IT technical lead services and direction for critical software, middleware, or hardware projects on multiple platforms. Complete complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities.
2. Ensure the viability of IT deliverables. Recommend development options and approve the team's technical deliverables. Conduct testing, including functionality, technical limitations, and security.
3. Identify potential solutions and approve technical solutions proposed by team members. Resolve technical problems discovered by testers and internal clients. Research issues and perform root cause analysis.
4. Communicate with key stakeholders on project issues and implications. Evaluate the impacts of change requests on technologies.
5. Maintain current knowledge of IT development methodology, architecture design, and technical standards. Mentor IT staff and ensure the application of new standards.
6. Review and approve documentation and diagrams created by IT team members. Write technical standards and processes documentation.
7. Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies.
8. Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the product lifecycle. Present technical status and issues at milestone reviews.
9. Understand and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, ensuring deliverables meet requirements.
10. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of eight years of related work experience, including at least three years of development experience.
2. Undergraduate degree or equivalent training and experience; a graduate degree is preferred.
3. Experience with full-stack development and AWS services (S3, Redshift, Athena, SageMaker).
4. Experience with GitHub, CI/CD platforms.
