Children's Carer - Band 3

Part Time / Flexible Working

Permanent

Investment into The Birches Respite Team has created the opportunity to recruit Band 3 Children's Carers. The team supports children with complex health needs in their own homes, schools, and The Birches Respite Unit. The service operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so a willingness to work shifts, especially night shifts, is essential.

The role involves delivering care to children in various settings, including the respite unit, schools, and homes. Successful candidates will be trained in clinical skills such as gastrostomy feeding, suction, and oxygen therapy within a competency-based framework. Continuing support will be provided in the role.

For more information, please see the attached support information, which provides a detailed overview of the job role and requirements.

At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability, and autism services, serving communities across Coventry, Warwickshire, and beyond.

Our ethos centers around putting people at the heart of everything we do. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others, offering a wide range of benefits and development opportunities, including:

* Generous annual leave entitlement, increasing with service
* Excellent learning and development opportunities, including apprenticeships, distance learning, internal training, coaching, and mentoring
* Salary sacrifice schemes for lease cars, cycle to work, home electronics, gym memberships, and more
* Discounts with retailers, restaurants, and entertainment venues through our Employee Assistance Programme and NHS discounts
* Wellbeing support, including in-house counselling and external helplines
* Staff networks and support groups

We seek individuals who share our passion for improving community wellbeing and embody our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity, and respect.

You will need a good level of basic education, including computer skills and at least NVQ Level 3 in a child-related subject. Experience with ventilated children or those with complex health issues is beneficial but not essential. An innovative approach to providing play and learning opportunities, along with a sense of fun and enthusiasm, is crucial.

We value compassion and commitment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential. In return, you'll join a warm, friendly service committed to the children we support. Our service recently received a 'Good' rating from the CQC, with an 'Outstanding' for care and compassion, and has been recognized with local and national awards.

For more information, please see the attached support information. This advert closes on Sunday, 1 June 2025.
