As Arable Foreman, you'll take operational leadership of our arable and estate maintenance activities, supporting both commercial farming and student research. You'll play a key role in our transition to precision farming, using cutting-edge technologies like GPS, robotics, and drone systems. This role also involves daily feeding of livestock and active engagement with students to enhance their learning experience.
1. Lead crop establishment, growth, and harvesting operations.
2. Maintain agricultural estate and machinery to high standards.
3. Support livestock units with machinery operations.
4. Implement precision farming techniques and data-driven decision-making.
5. Engage with students to enrich their practical learning.
6. Manage budgets and liaise with external service providers.
7. Maintain records and uphold health & safety standards.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Significant experience in machinery-based operations and precision farming.
* Strong understanding of legislation, compliance, and record-keeping.
* PA1, PA2, and PA6 qualifications (or willingness to train).
* Enthusiasm for working with students and sharing expertise.
* FACTS/BASIS training and agronomy experience (desirable).
