Overview
The role supports the Lead Nurse in providing care for children in the Emergency Area, assisting nursing teams over the 24-hour period.
Approximately 15 hours per week are spent in the Paediatric ED at Bassetlaw Hospital as part of cross‑site working.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate activities in the department and maintain effective communication.
* Support qualified and unqualified staff throughout the department.
* Assess patient care needs and develop, implement, evaluate programmes of care.
* Act as a role model, promote evidence‑based practice and develop the children's nursing team.
* Ensure effective management of the department in the absence of the Lead Nurse.
* Encourage empowerment through coaching, teaching and development facilitation, supporting service development.
