Responsibilities
* Technical & Operational Leadership
o Lead field service operations related to the inspection, maintenance, and repair of rotary kilns, ball mills, and other heavy industrial equipment.
o Conduct and interpret detailed mechanical inspections.
o Troubleshoot complex mechanical failures and provide clients with expert recommendations for preventive or corrective maintenance.
o Plan and oversee all aspects of project logistics, including scope definition, resource planning, subcontractor coordination, and safety compliance.
o Supervise skilled field teams (mechanics, welders, technicians) ensuring project execution meets or exceeds technical standards, safety protocols, and client expectations.
o Ensure all work complies with industry codes (e.g., ASME), OEM specifications, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, MSHA).
* Technical Consulting & Customer Engagement
o Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, helping them understand root causes of equipment inefficiencies and failures.
o Deliver high-value technical presentations and diagnostics to extend equipment life, reduce downtime, and optimize performance.
o Assist customers in developing maintenance strategies, CAPEX planning, and upgrade roadmaps based on inspection findings and operational risk.
* Business Development & Market Expansion
o Identify new business opportunities, potential partnerships, and service needs in the cement and mineral sectors using your industry network.
o Convert technical insights into commercial opportunities, such as long-term service agreements, spare parts sales, and capital equipment upgrades.
o Represent Fives FCB at trade shows, technical conferences, and customer meetings to promote field service capabilities and technical leadership.
o Monitor competitor activity, emerging technologies, and customer trends to contribute to market intelligence.
* Leadership & Mentorship
o Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and technical guidance to field personnel, ensuring professionalism and skill development.
o Foster a strong safety culture and uphold Fives FCB values in all interactions.
o Mentor junior field engineers and technicians on rotary kiln and mill diagnostics and repair techniques.
Qualifications
* Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, and repair of rotary kilns, ball mills, and other pyro-processing equipment (preferably in the cement, lime, or mineral processing industries).
* Proven track record of supervising technical teams in complex, high-risk field environments.
* Strong mechanical understanding of heavy industrial equipment, with ability to read technical drawings and perform data analysis.
* Fluent in safety standards (OSHA, MSHA) and capable of enforcing safety protocols rigorously.
* Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to build rapport and deliver impactful technical and commercial recommendations.
* Valid US driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%), including extended stays on customer sites.
Preferred Qualifications
* Background in business development or technical sales, with experience developing key accounts and growing market share.
* Established network within the cement, lime, and mining industries in the USA.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing high-quality reports, presentations, and proposals.
* Experience working for an OEM, field service company, or industrial contractor specializing in rotary kilns and ball mills.
