Operating across multiple business functions and cross‑functional teams, this role is responsible for designing, developing and delivering new connected product solutions throughout the WMFTS portfolio. You will work alongside Product Owners, New Product Innovation (R&D) teams and Digital/IT to integrate IoT/connectivity into product platforms and retrofit solutions. The Engineer will design and implement data collection at the sensor level and ingest it into an Azure data pipeline, assembling and configuring edge devices such as single‑board computers and sensor aggregation devices. You will be expected to prioritise features and run agile development cycles to meet delivery objectives, ensuring the Connect IoT platform is deployed on WMFTS products to support service offerings and customer requirements. Travels to other Spirax Group locations, customers and development partners are expected; a full driving license and current passport are required.

* Customer On‑boarding: assist customer technical teams to define and implement IoT products and develop the required competencies for long‑term ownership.
* Maintenance & support: support stakeholders to keep IoT products and solutions operational and develop necessary skills for long‑term responsibility.
* Work with cross‑functional teams such as Group Digital Strategy & Development, NPI, and IT/IS to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget, gathering user and stakeholder feedback to meet user needs.
* Prioritise features and functionality based on impact, feasibility and stakeholder input to decide which features should be developed first.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in technical/computer engineering or related field, or equivalent experience and training.
* Relevant experience in cloud software, IoT and/or related technologies, ideally with coding, DevOps and Agile experience.
* Demonstrable experience delivering IoT solutions using MSFT Azure (or equivalent) services.
* Experience with key IoT aspects: connectivity, security, provisioning, device management, data ingestion, real‑time processing, analytics, edge and end devices, data off‑loading, and integration with external systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to present concepts and solutions clearly in written and verbal formats.
* Leadership and teamwork skills, confident in delegating tasks, managing time, building relationships and guiding cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
