Phlebotomy Supervisor – University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust
To provide a high quality and efficient Phlebotomy service to the trust. To provide leadership, supervision, ensure delivery of key performance indicators (KPI’s) and operational management of the Phlebotomy team.
Responsibilities
* Daily management of the in-patient, out-patient, GP and domiciliary Phlebotomy service as well as the stabilisation service on site.
* Ensure quality of the service, enhance patient experience, and meet prescribed turnaround times for the service.
* Ensure phlebotomists are appropriately trained, subject to regular revalidation and, where necessary, performance managed.
* Monitor service performance and develop the service in conjunction with senior Pathology Managers.
* Lead a team of phlebotomists with support from a Team Leader to deliver high quality phlebotomy services to the patient population.
* Lead, support and develop the 7-day service as the new in-patient, out-patient and domiciliary services are expanded.
* Rotate and work as a Supervisor on other main sites within the Network as required.
Requirements
* Extensive phlebotomy experience with prior supervisory or senior role within a phlebotomy environment.
* A full UK driving license is essential for this post. An international driving license is not accepted.
* Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or UK GP.
Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services provides extensive phlebotomy services at five main sites, with additional outpatient, inpatient, community and domiciliary services across Coventry and Warwickshire.
The post is based at the George Eliot site, with rotation to other network sites as required.
