We are currently recruiting English Lecturers and Teachers across the West Midlands to deliver A Level, GCSE, and Functional Skills English within schools and FE colleges. Whether you specialise in academic pathways or resit provision, we have opportunities to suit your experience.
The Role
You will deliver high-quality English teaching across A Level, GCSE, and/or Functional Skills, supporting learners to achieve strong outcomes and progress into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across your specialism
* Teach A Level, GCSE and/or Functional Skills English
* Differentiate lessons to support mixed-ability and resit learners
* Assess progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
* Support learners with exam preparation, coursework, and confidence building
* Contribute to curriculum delivery and departmental success
* Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
* QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience teaching A Level, GCSE or Functional Skills English
* Strong subject knowledge (Language and/or Literature)
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience within Further Education or Sixth Form settings
* Strong results with GCSE resit learners
* Ability to teach across multiple levels (FS, GCSE, A Level)
