Job Title: Trainee Technical Administrator
My client is seeking a Financial Services-savvy professional to join as a Trainee Technical Administrator. The ideal candidate will have experience in holistic financial planning within an administrative role and is looking to advance their career.
The company's offices are located just outside the city center to the east of Norwich. They are a close-knit, friendly, and supportive team with excellent staff retention.
This role has arisen to provide additional adviser support.
Salary and Benefits: Starting at £32,500 plus a company pension, death in service policy, and other perks.
Job Details: Full-time, Permanent, based in Norwich, Norfolk.
The Trainee Technical Advisory Support position involves shadowing the current Compliance & Training Manager, with a training period expected to last 12-15 months. Upon satisfactory progress, the role will transition to Technical Advisory Support.
You will diligently perform all acts, duties, and obligations associated with a Technical Advisory Support role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of suitability reports and letters.
2. Preparation of Key Features Illustrations and applications.
3. Providing suitability advice, support, and guidance to advisers pre-sale for new recommendations.
4. Assisting advisers with Post Retirement Cashflow Modelling using the SelectaPension Cashflow System.
5. Supporting advisers with Pension Transfers using the SelectaPension Pension Switching System.
6. Proficiency in Financial Express Analytics for Portfolio Construction.
7. Portfolio rebalancing through fund transactions during reviews.
8. Understanding of the Finametrica Risk Profiling system for evaluating client risk profiles.
9. Assisting in the completion of monthly Market Commentary.
10. Organizing Quarterly Company Meetings, including venues and guest speakers.
11. Acting as the main contact for clients regarding Investment and Insurance Firm representatives.
12. Supporting advisers in client tax planning.
Full training will be provided through one-to-one and on-the-job methods. The company encourages further technical development via courses, seminars, and CII qualifications, which will be supported with study materials, exam fees, and study leave. Consideration will be given to allocating weekly or bi-weekly time for study leave.
Key Skills:
* Technical knowledge of products and tax wrappers.
* Desirable: Understanding of compliance processes within an IFA practice.
* Desirable: Experience with Intelliflo and Transact.
* Previous administrative experience within an IFA practice.
* Experience with pension administration (UFPLS, FAD), investments (WRAPs), and life insurance.
* Good communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work within a team.
* Strong prioritization skills and ability to perform under pressure.
* Attention to detail.
My client is a well-established practice managing assets worth £250 million. Their back-office system is Intelligent Office, used for all administrative processes, including adviser fee payments.
