Qualified SEN Teacher – Part-Time / Day-to-Day
Are you a passionate and adaptable teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in a specialist setting? Our SEN school in Kirkby supports pupils aged 2–19 with a wide range of complex needs including ASC, SEMH, ADHD, GDD, and profound learning difficulties. We are seeking qualified teachers to join our team on a flexible, part-time or day-to-day basis.
Whether your background is in Early Years, Primary, Secondary, or Post-16 education, we welcome your expertise and commitment to inclusive teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
2. Teach across a wide age range (2–19 years), adapting to varied developmental stages
3. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families
4. Foster a nurturing and structured learning environment
5. Use a range of communication strategies including Makaton, PECS, and AAC (training provided if needed)
6. Contribute to assessment, planning, and progress tracking
Ideal Candidate:
7. QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
8. Experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly complex needs
9. Knowledge of ASC, SEMH, ADHD, GDD, and sensory processing challenges
10. Team Teach trained (or willing to undertake training) – highly desirable
11. Additional training such as Moving & Handling, Makaton, PECS, or TEACCH is a bonus
