Contract: Permanent
Salary: Competitive apprenticeship wage (with progression)

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with an Alternative Provision (AP) in Wellingborough to recruit an Apprentice Teaching Assistant on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist AP setting that supports secondary-aged students with behavioural challenges and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role is ideal for someone who is resilient, compassionate, and motivated to support young people who may have faced barriers to mainstream education.

As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to help students re-engage with learning, develop positive behaviours, and build essential life skills. Alongside your day-to-day role, you will complete a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship, allowing you to earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supporting students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis

2. Assisting with the delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons

3. Supporting behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation

4. Building positive, trusting relationships with students

5. Promoting a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

6. Working collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies
