This is a permanent, full time position based from our head office in Sevenoaks, Kent.
The duties of the Senior Transport Manager role will include:
-Working closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the safe and efficient running of the transport operation
-Responsibility for managing a large team, including compliance managers, transport managers and planners
-Liaising with governing bodies (Logistics UK, CLOCS, LLCS) to represent FM Conway in governance proposals and industry developments
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s Operator Licence in line with traffic commissioner requirements
- Overseeing the specification and ordering of new Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), liaising with internal business divisions and vehicle manufacturers
- Monitoring Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) and encounter reports to ensure operational excellence
- Accountable for the division’s financial performance, including setting strategic budgets and ensuring they are consistently met to drive profitability
What skills and experience do you need?
You will have extensive experience in managing a large transport fleet and team and a strong background in the transport industry, with in-depth market knowledge. You will hold a valid and up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Transport Managers and a full UK driving license. You will have the ability to lead from the front, make strategic decisions, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
