Position Overview - Position Title: Senior Accountant - Team: UK Financial Control team - Location: Head Office - Avonmouth, Bristol - Reports to: Finance Manager - Direct reports: None - Hours: 5 days per week (37.5 hours per week) with hybrid working As a General Accountant, you will work in the Global Business Services function. You will be covering reporting for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Home Fragrance (HF) and Home Appliance (HA) entities. This hybrid based role can be based from Bristol or Cheadle offices. Including Prescription Drug Coverage, Dental and Vision care - Paid Parental Leave including Healthy Pregnancy Program and Fertility Solutions - And much more Role Responsibilities - Work the first three working days of each month in order to meet tight deadlines for group financial reporting. - Journal entries in multiple currencies and entities in the Oracle finance system. - Ownership of month end entries and accrual reconciliation covering a wide range of costs for operations in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. - Ownership of month end entries and reconciliation of uninvoiced but receipted purchase orders. - Royalty calculations and month end journals based on agreements with our parent company. - Support Finance Manager on Goods Receipts Not Invoiced reconciliation and month end process and entries. - Support Finance Manager on YCC (parent company) reconciliation and month end process and entries. - Support Finance Manager on payroll journals for UK 38 Ireland, France 38 Germany 38 Italy, and associated account reconciliations for payroll taxes, staff advances, childcare vouchers 38 cycle scheme. - Ownership of month end entries and reconciliation for a wide range of customer provisions. - Ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations - Leading the audit process for all accounts related to the tasks above. - Adhoc analysis / covering as requested. _ Requirements - Excellent Excel and data handling skills. Able to manage large data sets, make changes, checks 38 analysis with ease. - A respectful and open style, with a desire to be part of a fun and rewarding work environment that provides fair treatment, recognition and feedback. - Always proactively driving to streamline processes and reduce manual workload, looking for efficiencies. - Focus and attention to detail with technical accuracy, while still able to prioritise effectively and share information quickly and appropriately. - 2 years experience working in a Financial Control/General accounting environment - Desirable: Part-qualified / finalist - Experience of working with large ERP finance systems - Desirable: Experience of using Oracle and/or SAP - Desirable: Relevant sector experience (FMCG/wholesale sale of goods) Are you interested?
