Job purpose
We are looking for a skilled and business-oriented Application Manager to lead the management of retail-focused applications across our organization. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and strategic alignment of systems such as POS, inventory management, e-commerce platforms, and ERP. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail operations and how technology can drive efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
* Retail Application Oversight: Manage the lifecycle of retail applications including POS systems, e-commerce platforms, inventory and supply chain tools, and customer engagement solutions.
* Business Alignment: Work with retail operations, HR, finance, commercial, and marketing teams to ensure applications support business goals and customer experience.
* Performance & Support: Monitor application performance and availability across stores and digital channels; lead troubleshooting and incident resolution.
* Security & Compliance: Ensure applications meet data protection standards (e.g., GDPR for personal data, PCI-DSS for payment systems) and comply with industry regulations.
* Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate with software vendors and service providers for support, upgrades, and contract negotiations.
* Change & Release Management: Manage application updates and releases with minimal disruption to store operations and online services.
* Training & Documentation: Develop user guides and training materials for store staff and support teams; maintain technical documentation.
* Budget & Cost Control: Oversee application-related budgets and evaluate ROI of retail technology investments.
Qualifications
* Strong understanding of retail operations and customer experience technologies.
* Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management tools.
* 5+ years of experience in application management, preferably in a retail environment.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with retail systems such as Oracle Retail, SAP, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or similar.
* Knowledge of omnichannel retail strategies and integrations.
* Understanding of cloud-based applications and mobile technologies in retail.
