Senior Civil / Highway Technician
RPS are currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Highway Technician to join our progressive business and service our clients. This role will be within the infrastructure team, which could include Aviation or Highway-based projects. About The Design Business:
RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple sectors including Aviation, Highways, Civils, Structures, Architecture, and more. We aim to balance sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. Digitalisation is central to our delivery, enabling clients to experience designs from project concept through detailed drawings, supported by expertise across industries and disciplines.
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead the production of 3D models using Civil 3D software.
* Convert 3D drawings into detailed designs.
* Coordinate the production of detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
* Collaborate with other design disciplines on models, calculations, and sketches.
* Oversee drawing production and verify work quality.
* Review design proposals from consultants and contractors.
* Manage document uploads/downloads within management systems.
* Adhere to BIM protocols and drawing standards.
* Participate in project and technical meetings.
* Attend site inspections and produce surveys as required.
Who we’re looking for:
Ideally, you will have experience in the Aviation or Highways sector with an HND qualification. You should be proficient in Civil 3D, CAD drawing, 3D modelling, and BIM coordination, and knowledgeable about relevant legislation and standards. Commercial awareness and understanding of project timelines and budgets are also important.
