Mental Health Transport Assistant (Birmingham)

REPORTS TO: Deputy Care Operations Manager (DCOM)

JOB TYPES: Full-time

SHIFT PATTERNS: 12-hour shifts, Day shifts

QUALIFICATIONS: Full UK Manual Driving License (Required), Enhanced DBS certificate within the last 3 years (preferred)

Prior experience is beneficial but not required; comprehensive training will be provided by our experienced trainers.

This role involves more than driving; it’s about ensuring patient safety, respect, and comfort during transitions, sometimes requiring the use of trained techniques for safety.

WHO ARE WE? Founded in 2012, we specialize in secure patient transport, proudly achieving high standards of RRN training and care, and operating across the UK with international transfers. We are proud of our growth and the positive impact of our team.

REQUIREMENTS: Valid UK Manual Driving License (minimum 12 months driving experience), excellent communication skills, ability to stay calm under pressure, resilience, effective teamwork, attention to detail, and disclosure of any police record. We consider circumstances surrounding any past convictions.

WE OFFER: Full training in patient care, transport, de-escalation, physical intervention, First Aid, and more; support and mentoring; career progression opportunities including diplomas; ongoing professional development; employee recognition awards; and a suggestion scheme for improvements.

CONTRACT DETAILS: Full-time, 42.1 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern. Flexibility may be required. Starting from £13.14/hour, with annual remuneration approximately £27,580.26, plus enhancements for night, weekend, mental health support, call-in, and overtime shifts. Further details will be discussed during the interview.
