About The Role .The role Are you an organised, proactive and detail-oriented person with a keen interest in intellectual property? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at Adamson Jones, part of Gateley, at either our Birmingham or Nottingham offices on a part time (21 hours' weekly or similar) 12 months' fixed term maternity cover. As an IP Administrator, you will be responsible for providing case administration and filing support to our patent and trademark attorneys across a range of sectors and industries. You will work closely with our IP team and our clients to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of their IP matters, from filing applications through to grant. You will also liaise with our overseas IP associates and other external parties as required. Some of your main duties will include: Professional IP formality work Preparing and filing patent applications in the UK, Europe and internationally Professional work in respect of IP procedure, costs and client portfolios Updating and maintaining our Patricia case management system Prosecution of applications Monitoring and meeting deadlines and reporting actions to clients and attorneys Providing general administrative support to the IP attorney team Gateley are fully embracing the new hybrid culture, so a mixture of both home and office working is available. The team Adamson Jones a part of Gateley, is a dedicated patent and trademark practice specialising in obtaining intellectual property rights for businesses and organisations in the UK, Europe and throughout the world. We work with clients ranging in size from technology-focussed start-ups to multinationals, and innovative SMEs to world-renowned universities, and have a global network of overseas IP associates, whose clients we represent in the UK and Europe. Our patent attorney team offers broad sector and industry knowledge and is made up of technical experts specialising in the fields of medical devices, engineering, pharmaceuticals, software, biotechnology, and electronics. The person We are looking for a candidate who is eager to join a growing team, learn new skills and show enthusiasm in their work. You should have a minimum of 2 years' IP administration experience, ideally in a patent and trademark practice or a law firm. You can be based in either of our Birmingham or Nottingham offices and will have the opportunity for hybrid working. Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes: Previous experience in a similar IP administration role, preferably in a patent and trademark practice or a law firm A good understanding of IP procedures and formalities in the UK, Europe and internationally Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal A high level of accuracy and attention to detail A strong sense of initiative and problem-solving ability A positive, flexible and team-oriented attitude Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems Experience with Patricia software would be preferable but not essential About You About Us The benefits With support, coaching and feedback from some of the most engaging colleagues around our great development and progression opportunities will reward your commitment and loyalty.
