Associate Director, Energy (Strategic Advisory)
WSP in the UK & Ireland is looking for an experienced Associate Director to lead integrated commercial and technical advisory projects in decarbonisation. The role is based in Leeds, United Kingdom and is full‑time.
Responsibilities
* Lead advisory projects and provide integratied commercial and technical support to clients.
* Coordinate the production of contractual deliverables and assurance reports, presenting complex issues in clear, concise form.
* Develop and manage relationships with existing and new clients, pursuing opportunities and converting them into projects.
* Represent WSP in client meetings, demonstrating strong client‑management skills.
* Lead analysis and prepare high‑quality reports.
* Coordinate project teams and support training and development of the wider team.
* Leverage WSP’s internal domain experts and specialist consultants to solve complex problems.
* Possibility of overseas travel for projects if required.
Qualifications
* Degree level education in economics, engineering or a business‑related subject.
* Recent, demonstrable track record of successfully delivering complex and/or high‑profile consulting projects.
* Experience working in a leading engineering consultancy, accountancy firm, or other specialist consultancy.
* Experience managing teams and coordinating delivery of workstreams to tight deadlines.
* Strong spoken and written communication skills in English; additional language skills desirable.
* Ability to develop client‑facing relationships and communicate confidently with senior client management.
* Comprehensive knowledge of major software packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI, Sharepoint, etc.).
