Occupational therapist

Haywards Heath
NHS
Occupational therapist
Posted: 21 September
Offer description

We look forward to welcoming an Occupational Therapist to our supportive, friendly and specialised Dementia and Older Persons Mental Health team. Our community-based team supports people over the age of 70 years who have mental health difficulties and supports people of any age with dementia. We provide exceptional care, and we work collaboratively to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where both patients and staff can thrive.

The core focus of this role is OT specific assessment and intervention for older people with functional difficulties due to mental health or dementia, and you will be an important part of the MDT contributing to the MDT discussions and zoning meetings. You will be encouraged to develop your core OT skills, and your opinion and professional perspective will be valued by our team and the wider OT community. We are keen to continually develop and improve, and this role offers the opportunity to establish a strong OT offer in the team and participate more widely to OT development within the older adult service across West Sussex.

Main duties of the job

We would be open to consider a Band 5 for the post and support your development into a band 6.

We understand the transition from band 5 to band 6 practitioner can be challenging, and we are dedicated to developing your full potential with a clear programme of support to help you develop your skills and competencies. We offer a fantastic online Band 5-6 Development Programme designed to support your transition over a period of 6 to 12 months and help you to meet the responsibilities and expectations of a band 6 role. The programme will help guide, support, and empower you every step of the way.
