Role: EHS Specialist Location: PrestwickGlasgow- onsite RoleType: 12 months Salary: Around£26dependingon experience Role Overview: Our globally renowned aerospace client is seeking an EHS Specialist, who will strengthen the existing Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) function in response to the continued growth of the clients activitiesintheUK.TheroleisprimarilybasedattheAICPrestwicksite,providinghands-onEHSsupport to management and employees to achieve and sustain high standards of safety, environmental performance,andregulatory compliance. Thepositionwill also support other regional sites as required. Key Responsibilities: Provideday-to-dayEHSguidanceandpracticalsupporttositeleadershipand employees. EnsurefullalignmentwiththeclientsenterpriseEHSrequirementswhilemaintaining compliance with UK and regional legislation. PrepareandmaintainEHScompliancereports,permits,andregulatorysubmissions,actingas the primary EHS point of contact with regulatory bodies. Conductriskassessments,EHSinspections,audits,andincidentinvestigations,implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Supportnewbusinessactivitiesandfacilitiesprojectsbyassessingworkplacehazardsand advising on EHS compliance requirements. DeliverEHStraining,inductions,andawarenessprogrammestomeetbothregulatoryand business needs. Reviewcontractor,supplier,andvendoractivitiestoensureadherencetoEHS standards. Supportemergencypreparednessplanning,environmentalcompliance,sustainabilityinitiatives, and health surveillance programmes. WorkcollaborativelywiththewiderregionalEHSteam,includingtraveltoothersiteswhen required. PrestwickAIC Context: The Prestwick AIC facility will operate as a fully integrated to the clients site following acquisition. The workforce includes office-based staff alongside operational and warehouse personnelengagedinactivitiessuchasmachining,R&D,laboratorywork,goodshandling,crane and forklift operations. While no immediate safety risks have been identified, there is a recognised compliance gap against UK legislation and the cleints EHS standards, requiring dedicated on-site EHS support for an initial 612 month period. KeyImprovementFocus Areas: Replacementofexistinggenericriskassessmentswithclient-compliantactivity-andtask-specific assessments and Safe Working Instructions. Implementationofacomprehensivechemicalmanagementsystem,includingCOSHH,REACH compliance, procurement controls, PPE programmes, and training. Reviewandenhancementofsafetyprogrammesformachining,liftingoperations,andpowered industrial trucks. Developmentofemergencypreparednessarrangements,EHStrainingplans,andhealth surveillance programmes. Qualificationsand Experience: MinimumLevel3qualificationinHealth&SafetyorEnvironmental Management. Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillsin English. Experiencewithinanengineering,manufacturing,ormechanicalmaintenanceenvironmentis desirable. Thisroleplaysacriticalpartinensuringregulatorycompliance,embedding theclientsEHSstandards, and supporting the safe and effective integration of the Prestwick AIC facility.
