Qualified Social Worker – Help and Protection Buckinghamshire County Council Up to £40 per hour (DOE) Hybrid Working | Ongoing Contract Immediate Start Available Some teams need your experience. Others need your heart. This one needs both. Buckinghamshire’s Help and Protection service is on the lookout for a qualified Social Worker to join their dedicated team. This is not just about managing caseloads – it’s about making a real difference in the lives of children and families who need timely intervention and the kind of support that changes outcomes. The role in a nutshell: You’ll be working directly with children, young people, and their families who are in need of statutory support and protection. This includes Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and court work. You’ll undertake assessments, develop plans, and provide focused interventions with a clear eye on safeguarding and sustainable change. Key Responsibilities: Hold and manage a caseload of children with CP/CIN plans and those within court proceedings Carry out in-depth assessments using the Signs of Safety framework Develop and review care plans in partnership with families and professionals Prepare and present reports to conference, legal panels, and the court Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to promote positive outcomes Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory guidance Who we’re looking for: A qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work (or equivalent) Registered with Social Work England Experienced in children’s safeguarding, CP/CIN, and court work Confident in complex decision-making and risk management Passionate, grounded, and ready to be part of a supportive and progressive team Why Buckinghamshire?
