An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resources and Environmental Projects Officer within the Neighbourhood Delivery Team based at Cupid Green Depot in Hemel Hempstead. You will work with and mentor the Unit administrators, and support, when needed, in operating the weighbridge, taking customer service calls and answering emails as well as producing end of day reports.
You will be required to successfully manage and produce information on spreadsheets for internal performance use and external audits. The ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with colleagues and customers is required as well as tact, empathy and the ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
You will support the Resources and Administration Lead Officer in developing and delivering service-specific information to residents and to help provide an excellent service educating people on recycling and environmental issues. Whilst working under the remit of Dacorum Borough Council and the Hertfordshire WasteAware Partnership, you will work on a range of environmental projects, campaigns and events to promote the services offered, help tackle environmental issues, drive behavioural changes and maintain civic pride in the community. You will attend monthly Waste aware meetings, sharing best practice and taking away ideas we can embed within our own service.
You will be responsible for; producing newsletters, presentations and social media content including images and videos; supporting numerous events including Xmas Tree recycling and the Great British Spring Clean, coordinating volunteer litter-picking and our Street Champions scheme and using IT and web systems to produce analysis reports in order to monitor our waste service through completion of site returns and Waste Data Flow information.
You will have the ability to prioritise and manage your workload efficiently, possess good organisational, analytical and research skills, be an effective communicator and presenter, have an excellent understanding of and passion for environmental issues and the waste sector. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be highly motivated and expected to deliver against a challenging work plan.
