Tax & Treasury Recruitment have been engaged by a FTSE250 client to recruit an Indirect Tax Assistant Manager to join their team based in Berkshire.
You will be joining a relatively new tax team that has been built to support the growth of the wider business.
This is a great opportunity for anyone seeking a challenging but rewarding in-house role that can offer opportunity to progress internally.
Your role
This newly created role focuses on indirect tax advisory and strategy across UK and international markets, particularly the US and EU.
You will be a key advisory point for commercial teams, addressing issues related to sales deals, customer and vendor inquiries, and broader tax implications of business strategies.
You will support ongoing project work and offer tax guidance and education across various business functions.
Two current projects include identifying and implementing software to automate VAT determination/invoicing, and the VAT registration process for a newly entered jurisdiction.
As this is a new team, you will be responsible for reviewing and improving systems, processes and procedures. Tax has good visibility in the business, but will still require work to maintain and improve upon this.
The position also involves reviewing and managing VAT and US sales tax submissions.
There is some flexibility with the role, and you will have scope to contribute to other areas such as corporate tax, transfer pricing, and employment tax, depending on your interest and team needs.
About you
You will be motivated by a challenge and will be energised by solving a problem.
You will have experience in Indirect Tax, specifically working with large multinational corporates – Your experience can be from practice (Top 10) or in-house.
Experience is more important than qualification, however, ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA qualifications are highly valued.
If this sounds like you, reach out to Tom Sharland-Harris at Tax & Treasury Recruitment.
