The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of their assigned projects and must be competent in managing the six aspects of a project: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources.
They should be able to manage projects effectively using the 8-phase gated process to ensure predefined project objectives are delivered within budget and on time.
Requirements of the Role
* Meet with relevant leadership team members and customers to identify project requirements, delivery timelines, and costs.
* Develop detailed project plans, identify key milestones according to the gated process, and communicate revisions as needed.
* Create effective communication strategies and quality plans suitable for the project's size and complexity.
* Manage projects through the gated process from concept to manufacturing and lead phase gate exit review meetings.
* Coordinate with department managers to secure necessary resources aligned with project deliverables.
* Assign project tasks based on team members' resource availability, skills, experience, and strengths.
* Monitor project performance indicators, identify and record risks, mitigate where possible, and communicate potential impacts.
* Chair regular project team meetings, record key activities, and report outcomes.
* Compile and submit project status reports to stakeholders.
* Demonstrate leadership, customer relations, and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.

* Experience with gated processes and managing stage reviews.

Core Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years experience as a project manager in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
* HNC/Degree in a relevant discipline or Project Management Qualification.
* Proficient in data analysis, report generation, presentations, and project management software.
* Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
* Leadership skills to inspire and motivate teams.
* Experience in the Rail or Defence markets.
* Experience in the connector or cable assembly industry.
* Previous use of Daptiv software.
