About the Company
An established Independent Connections Provider operating within the UK power and utilities sector. The organisation delivers contestable electricity connections and private network projects for industrial, commercial and renewable energy clients, supporting grid connections from 11kV through to higher-voltage interfaces. With a strong reputation for safety, compliance and delivery quality, the business plays an active role in enabling the UK’s energy transition.
The Role
The Contracts Manager will take ownership of the commercial and operational performance of a portfolio of high-voltage connection projects delivered across the UK. Sitting above individual project delivery, the role provides leadership to Project Managers, ensuring consistent governance, margin protection and programme control across multiple live schemes. The successful candidate will act as the senior escalation point for commercial, contractual and client risk, whilst driving strong relationships with clients, DNOs/IDNOs and the supply chain. This is a senior role combining commercial rigour with operational oversight and strategic input into preconstruction and tender activity.
Experience Required
Proven experience leading the delivery of multiple high-voltage utility or contestable works projects, including ICP or DNO/IDNO interface environments.
Strong commercial and contract management background, with demonstrable experience managing variations, change control, valuations, forecasting and cashflow.
Ability to lead and mentor Project Managers, manage subcontractor performance, and resolve delivery, programme and commercial risk.
Experience implementing and improving project governance, quality management and HSEQ standards across complex project portfolios.
Working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract, with experience across 11–33kV projects (higher voltages and ENA/contestable works frameworks desirable)
