Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, friendly motivated worker to join the multidisciplinary team at the Ipswich Child development Centre as a Clinic assistant/ Chaperone.
The role will include meeting children and families when they arrive for appointments, carrying out height and weight measurements and supporting in clinics and MDT assessments. The role also includes acting as a formal chaperone within the paediatric clinics when required.
Responsibilities
* Meet children and families on arrival for appointments.
* Carry out height and weight measurements and support in clinics and MDT assessments.
* Act as a formal chaperone within paediatric clinics when required.
* Ensure clinic rooms and waiting areas have appropriate toys and equipment; assist with cleaning and tidying at the end of sessions.
* Be sensitive to and respect the patient’s dignity and confidentiality.
* Reassure patients if they show distress or discomfort by providing emotional support.
* Assist with dressing or undressing the patient if required.
* Be familiar with the procedures involved and assist with the consultation, investigation or procedure if appropriately trained.
* Stay for the whole examination and be able to observe what the practitioner is doing, where practical.
* Provide protection to healthcare professionals against unfounded allegations of improper behaviour; act as a chaperone as a safeguard for all parties and raise concerns if there are concerns about the practitioner’s behaviour.
