We are now expanding our core team in Boston and seeking a skilled Cloud Security Architect to lead our cloud security strategy across AWS and Azure.
Position Summary
The Cloud Security Architect will design, implement, and oversee secure cloud infrastructure and policies. You will work closely with engineering, DevSecOps, and product teams to ensure that our cloud-native environments are secure, compliant, and scalable. This is a strategic, hands-on role critical to our platform’s security posture.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and architect secure cloud environments (AWS and Azure) for applications, data, and infrastructure
* Develop security controls, access policies, and encryption standards for cloud-native systems
* Conduct cloud threat modeling, risk assessments, and security architecture reviews
* Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep
* Drive DevSecOps integration within CI/CD pipelines and automation processes
* Ensure compliance with industry frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or ISO 27001
* Monitor and enhance cloud security posture using tools like AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, and SIEM solutions
* Respond to cloud security incidents and lead incident response planning
* Mentor engineers and establish best practices for cloud security across the organization
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
* 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and security (AWS and/or Azure)
* In-depth knowledge of IAM, VPC, security groups, key management, firewall rules, and multi-cloud security practices
* Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and automation experience
* Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools like Kubernetes (EKS/AKS)
* Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and security analytics
Preferred Qualifications
* Certifications: AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CCSP, CISSP
* Background in secure architecture for AI/ML platforms, data lakes, and API management
* Experience in high-compliance environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, defense)
* Understanding of threat detection, incident response, and data loss prevention in cloud
