The Role We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of our in-house payroll operations. You’ll be embedded in our Finance team (with a dotted line to HR), managing end-to-end UK payroll and supporting additional European regions in time. Your work will ensure everything runs smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance with all relevant regulations. What You’ll Do Run and manage monthly UK payroll processes, including salary changes, bonuses, pensions, starters and leavers Act as the internal expert for payroll queries from employees and managers Keep payroll records up to date and ensure HMRC and pension compliance Maintain and enhance our in-house payroll system and tooling Administer employee benefits such as pensions and ensure we are fully compliant with regulators Own payroll reporting, journal reconciliations, and data analysis for Finance Monitor UK and European payroll legislation changes to ensure the business is continuously compliant What You’ll Bring Solid experience running UK payroll end-to-end, ideally in a lead or standalone capacity Deep understanding of UK payroll, tax, and pension regulations High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Confident working within finance systems (e.g. HRIS, accounting software, in-house tools) Proactive, collaborative approach—comfortable driving process improvements in a fast-paced team. Able to step into other areas of finance if needed.
