As a Sous Chef for Sodexo at Kings College, South Road, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 3LA, working for the global catering provider Sodexo.
This team is skilled, innovative and loves the challenge of an exciting and varied working week. The food we offer our students is the best in the region and beyond, and we need a forward-thinking chef to join our team.
We offer straight shifts, and you will be working in a team that revolves around a two-week shift cycle with occasional alterations for functions. We do not work unsociable hours and your holiday allowance includes Bank Holidays. Christmas has an extended period of gifted holiday.

What you’ll do
* Be a kitchen star and plan all operations & training for the production team
* Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods
* Plan and price menu items, order supplies, and keep records and accounts
* Work on the range with the kitchen team to train, guide & develop
* Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
* Prepare, produce and present food to the highest standard
What you bring
* Food and Hygiene and Health and Safety Certificates
* Experience in menu planning and production
* Experience in or exposure to bulk cooking
* Good knowledge of pastry work
* Hold basic food handling skills certification: NVQ Level 2
* Desirable Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
* Desirable A minimum of 1 year of experience in hands-on cooking
Training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety will be ongoing throughout the year.

Rate of Pay: £14.21 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working pattern: 5 days out of 7, 06:15-14:15 and 11:45-19:45
Full Time Contract with Overtime opportunities. Close to the central town, free meals on duty, free car parking on site, uniforms provided and changing rooms available.
