Teaching Assistant (KS1) – Supportive Primary School – Newport (NP20)

A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Newport (NP20) is looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support their KS1 pupils from September 2025.
✅ The Role
You will be supporting children aged 5–7 across KS1, both in the classroom and through targeted small-group or 1:1 support. You’ll work closely with teachers and staff to ensure every child receives the care and guidance they need to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with literacy and numeracy lessons
Supporting children with additional learning needs (SEN desirable)
Helping manage classroom behaviour in a positive, proactive way
Creating a fun and engaging learning atmosphere
Preparing learning materials and assisting in daily routines
Role Details
Location: Newport (NP20)
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: £89.38–£95/day (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Long-term, with potential for permanent placement
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is:
Passionate about supporting young learners
Patient, reliable, and enthusiastic
Comfortable working 1:1 or with small groups
EWC Registered (or willing to register)
Holds a Child-Only DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
Able to provide two references from the last 24 months
