VIGO is working with a leading name in smart energy and building controls to appoint a BMS Technical Manager in Manchester. If you’re an experienced BMS professional who thrives on technical leadership, energy optimisation, and guiding engineering standards, this could be your next big move.
Role Overview
As the BMS Technical Manager, you’ll lead a skilled regional team to deliver first-class technical service and support across key client portfolios. You’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers, service teams, and account leads to uphold technical excellence, provide strategic advice, and continuously drive system optimisation and energy savings.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion technical quality and engineering standards across all BMS activities.
* Oversee technical delivery for service contracts, upgrades, and optimisation projects.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, ensuring consistent high-quality standards.
* Act as the senior technical contact for key clients
* Review and validate control strategies, graphics, and system architectures.
* Support Project Managers with technical assurance, design reviews, and fault resolution.
* Identify and deliver system improvements and energy-saving opportunities across multiple sites.
* Contribute to innovation and decarbonisation strategies within client estates.
The Ideal Candidate
* Excellent proven experience in BMS / Building Controls (Honeywell, Trend, Tridium, Siemens, or equivalent).
* Strong leadership background with proven ability to develop and mentor engineers.
* Excellent technical understanding of control systems, energy optimisation, and integration.
* Confident in client-facing environments and comfortable delivering strategic technical advice.
* A proactive problem-solver with great communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence required.
