Mechanical Technician (Equipment Assembly Technician) Basildon | £30,000 – £35,000 Benefits We are looking to appoint a Mechanical Technician to join our team in Basildon. This role will involve assisting in the machining, manufacturing, and build-up of enclosures, equipment, and machinery on our factory floor. This is a varied, hands-on position that will include machining, fitting, assembly, fault finding, and working with pneumatics. The role also involves occasional travel to support our worldwide customer base with installation, commissioning, and service work. Key Responsibilities: * Fitting and assembly work on the factory floor * Conducting trials and tests on machinery * Piping, testing, and fault-finding pneumatic logic circuits * Assembly, commissioning, and service work at customer sites (UK & overseas) Skills & Attributes: * Strong basic engineering skills with practical experience in mechanical assembly and machining * Ability to read and interpret equipment assembly drawings, maintaining high standards of quality and finish * Good problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail * Proven team player with strong communication skills * Ideally, some exposure to pneumatics and installation/commissioning at customer sites * Awareness of health and safety requirements in an engineering environment * Recognised Engineering certification/apprenticeship What We Offer: * Salary £30,000 – £35,000 (dependent on skills and experience) * Full training on our specialist machinery and equipment * Pension scheme and generous employee benefits * Comprehensive benefits package, including travel opportunities to support our global customer base This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and hands-on mechanical work
