Steel Operative
Location: Dudley (Relocating to a brand-new, purpose-built facility in Worcester in )
We are currently seeking an experienced Steel Operative to join our client during an exciting period of growth and relocation. The company is transitioning from Dudley to a newly built, state-of-the-art facility in Worcester. This is a great opportunity to be part of an essential team supporting production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Raw Material Loading & Handling: Safely load raw materials onto production lines and ensure materials are available for production. Follow FIFO stock rotation and ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
2. Tooling & Equipment Setup: Set and change tooling according to manufacturing requirements, ensuring all tools are correctly calibrated and compliant with standards.
3. Forklift & Crane Operations: Operate forklifts and cranes to move and load raw materials and finished goods, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.
Key Skills & Requirements:
4. Licences: Counterbalance Forklift Licence (6 Tonnes), Crane Licence (essential), Reach Truck Licence (beneficial).
5. Experience: Experience with raw material stock control, goods receipt, and operating forklifts and cranes. Previous experience in a supervisory role is an advantage.
6. Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with barcode systems are beneficial.
7. Personal Skills: Strong people skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent attention to detail. Ability to solve problems and take proactive steps to improve processes.
8. Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse/production environment.
Salary: £14.84 per hour
Hours of Work- Week 1 - 7am-3.30pm, Week 2 -10.30am till 7pm
