Contract Systems Engineer – Electronic Warfare (EW) Sensors

We are supporting a programme in the defence and secure technology sector and are looking for an experienced Contract Systems Engineer to support the modification, testing and certification of Electronic Warfare (EW) sensor products for export customers.
This role will involve applying systems engineering expertise across the development lifecycle to support the delivery of new system variants and ensure compliance with certification requirements.
The Role
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for integrating complex engineering and technology components into high-performance EW sensor systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Updating and managing system requirements and acceptance evidence for new and modified system variants
* Supporting system integration, verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with requirements
* Gathering and maintaining evidence required for system certification
* Developing and implementing engineering change requests to support the delivery of new system variants
* Producing engineering specifications, technical reports and presentations to support programme delivery
Skills and Experience Required
* Strong technical background within a relevant engineering discipline
* High proficiency in requirements generation and management using IBM DOORS
* Good understanding of formal testing processes used to gather certification evidence
* Experience managing engineering change requests from creation through to verification
* Good understanding of design compliance and acceptance criteria required for system certification
* Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles across the full development lifecycle
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
* Self-motivated with strong problem-solving ability and the capability to drive complex issues through to resolution
Additional Desirable Experience
* Knowledge of ISO/IEC 15288
* Experience within the defence or aerospace sector
* Previous experience supporting Electronic Warfare or sensor-based systems programmes

Due to the nature of the programme, candidates must be eligible to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance for UK-caveated projects.
