TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a resilient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large, 3-form entry primary school in the Poplar area of Tower Hamlets.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a school that requires confident, proactive staff who can thrive in a fast‑paced and sometimes challenging environment.
The Role
* Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities
* Managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviour effectively
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential
* Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour in a school setting
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
