Salary: Up to £70,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance

About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical building services packages on a major, highly regulated infrastructure project at Hinkley Point C.
This position is open to:
* Nuclear-experienced Mechanical Project Engineers, and
* Experienced Building Services Project Engineers from regulated environments such as energy, healthcare, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, or defence.
Previous nuclear experience is advantageous but not essential. Engineers without nuclear experience will receive full project induction and support to operate within a nuclear safety-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide engineering and project management support across mechanical building services work packages
* Ensure all project activities are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and formal procedures
* Develop and manage project programmes aligned with the main project schedule
* Identify labour, material, and procurement milestones and ensure deadlines are met
* Prepare major material and master procurement schedules
* Review mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications for compliance and functional suitability
* Monitor project cost, commercial performance, and work-in-progress reporting
* Support delivery within a strong safety and compliance culture
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (HVAC, piping systems, heating & cooling, drainage)
* Proven experience as a Mechanical or Building Services Project Engineer
* Track record of delivering projects in regulated or safety-critical environments
* Strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements
* Ability to manage multiple work packages in a complex project environment
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience working on nuclear projects
* Understanding of nuclear safety culture and safety-critical systems
* Experience supporting Qualified Equipment (EQ) processes
* Working towards HNC or higher qualification
* Working towards a recognised Project Management qualification (APM PMQ or equivalent)
