Job Overview: As an SEMH Support Worker, you will work closely with pupils who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve providing tailored support to promote positive behaviour, build resilience, and facilitate engagement in learning. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with SEMH needs to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies Build trusting relationships with pupils to promote their emotional well-being and social development Support pupils during break times, outings, and other school activities Implement tailored interventions to support emotional regulation and social skills Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, and interventions to inform ongoing support plans Person Specification: Prior experience working with children or young people facing SEMH challenges, ideally within an educational or care environment Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, adaptable, and resilient with a positive attitude Ability to build rapport and motivate pupils to achieve their potential Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and approaches such as de-escalation techniques, attachment theory, or restorative practices is desirable but not essential Requirements: A genuine interest in supporting young people with SEMH needs Ability to work effectively as part of a team Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils' emotional and behavioural needs Willingness to develop skills and strategies to support SEMH pupils effectively Monarch Education are proud to be a leading recruitment specialist in the Education industry.
