The Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs during the night.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing Compassionate Care: Deliver person-centred care that promotes dignity, respect, and comfort throughout the night.
* Monitoring & Safety: Carry out regular checks, respond promptly to needs, and ensure a safe and calm environment.
* Behaviour Support: Use patience and de-escalation skills to manage challenging behaviours appropriately.
* Promoting Independence: Encourage choice and independence in ways that are meaningful, even during night-time routines.
* Hands-on Support: Assist with personal care, medication administration, and household tasks where required.
* Effective Communication: Record accurate notes and handover information to day staff, and liaise with families and professionals when needed.
* Problem-Solving: Respond calmly to unexpected situations, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

What We're Looking For:

We need someone with:

* Empathy & Compassion: A genuine passion for supporting others and promoting dignity, respect, and equality.
* Resilience Under Pressure: The ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging or high-pressure situations.
* Reliability & Teamwork: A proactive, dependable approach, with the ability to work independently during the night while being part of a wider team.
* Experience & Knowledge: Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or autism is desirable, along with knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or similar frameworks.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

* Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities or autism.

Desirable (but not essential):

* NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 (or working towards) in Health and Social Care.
* Current DBS certificate registered with the update service.
* Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or similar frameworks.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £12.42-£13.01 per hour
