We are seeking experienced and motivated Health Visitors to join our dedicated Public Health Nursing Service, supporting children and families across Cornwall. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver the Healthy Child Programme, providing early intervention, safeguarding support and health promotion. Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and delivering on the Healthy Child Programme to families with children aged 0-5.
* Assessing family needs and providing early intervention and targeted support.
* Identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns, working closely with partner agencies.
* Promoting child development, maternal mental health, infant feeding and healthy lifestyles.
* Working collaboratively with Integrated Neighbourhood teams and wider children’s services.
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service improvement and quality outcomes.
What you’ll need to succeed:
You will need to be a Community Specialist Practitioner in Public Health (BSc Hons) or equivalent in Health Visiting, with active professional registration with the NMC. Candidates should have substantial experience as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN), supported by ongoing professional development. Comprehensive and current knowledge of commissioned services, safeguarding practices and family‑centred public health approaches is essential, as is experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams. Advanced IT proficiency, including expertise in clinical record‑keeping systems, is also expected. The ability to lead and contribute effectively to service and organisational change initiatives, combined with a strong capacity to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines, is crucial.
