Job Description
New Directions are seeking a qualified Maths and English teacher who is able to carry out 1-1 tuition up to GCSE level and who also has pastoral care experience within education. The successful applicant will become part of the Engagement, Wellbeing and Attainment team, working with pupils in Rhondda Cynon Taff. The pupils will be based at home or in Learning Centres and are not regular school attenders. This is a hybrid role, predominantly supportive, but there will also be some teaching and guidance involved when necessary.
This role can be 5 days per week for the right person, but it can be flexible on hours/days if needed and the client agrees. New Directions can also offer a role with supply work in schools on free days.
EOTAS (education other than at a school setting) is for pupils who are not currently attending mainstream education. It is essential for candidates to possess a PGCE or PCET qualification, and able to teach up to GCSE level Mathematics and English.
Some pupils may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN), so experience in supporting with Autism, and emotional, behavioural and social difficulties is imperative for this role.
Furthermore, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the position, as travelling to pupils homes, and relevant learning centres would be required.
