The Role RE Teacher
As an RE Teacher, you will:
Deliver a rigorous and well-sequenced Religious Education curriculum across KS3 and KS4
Teach a broad range of religious, ethical and philosophical topics
Encourage critical thinking, respectful debate and cultural understanding
Use assessment effectively to identify misconceptions and address gaps in learning
Adapt teaching to support pupils with SEND and those new to English
Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic engagement
Contribute to curriculum development within the humanities department
The Ideal RE Teacher Will Have:
QTS and a strong academic background in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject
Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4
High expectations for achievement and behaviour
Confidence using assessment to inform planning, with familiarity with exam boards such as AQA or Edexcel
Commitment to inclusion and equal access for all pupils
Clear communication and strong classroom presence
